It’s finally here!
The release of the NEW Betty’s Botanicals range.
What you may not know though is how this range / series came to be.
Besides having a bit of a ‘thing’ for painting bouquets at the moment, I really wanted to translate this into my surface pattern designs but in a way that means something to me.
So, my beautiful Nan (Betty) who lived with us for quite a few years, used to love Australian Botanicals and whenever we would get her a bunch of flowers it was always be a bouquet filled with Proteas, Banksia’s and wattle varieties.
The smell even reminds me of when we’d sit on her couch in the granny flat drinking cups of tea and eating eclair lollies that’d always get stuck on her dentures.
I love how smells can totally take you back to a moment in time, in just seconds.
These memories are truly some of my fondest and I am so very grateful to have grown-up during my teen years with my Nan just doors away. The best confidant, most loving and totally crazy tiny batty Irish woman you’d ever meet.
So, I really hope that you like all the designs in the series and they are designs my Nan would be proud of.
Each design is linked in name to one of Betty’s female descendents and features some of her favourite colours and tones.
There are eight designs in the series, with Betty having a black or white option in some of the apparel pieces including scarves, which are perfect for Mother’s Day which is just a few weeks away.
