Yep, it’s upon us!
School Holidays and it means we are about to be eaten out of house and home, as well as hear regular complaining that “There is nothing to eat!”
Well, I’m hoping to make life a little easier by sharing some healthy snacks I’ve scoped out that may just help.
Quick and easy to whip up is key here. We are all just exhausted when the kids are home and we certainly don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen either, so hopefully with a little mix and a whisk, some, one or all of these options may just help make the holidays that part of the holidays a little less painful.
Such a great idea!
Super easy and only a handful of ingredients in these Sweet Potato Banana Bites.
A great idea and no nasties either.

If you not already aware a few weeks ago I started a little Instagram page called An Apple a Day Challenge.
It’s sole purpose was to encourage ME, and anyone else who also wants to join in, to eat at least one whole fruit a day, however you like. To eat fruit as nature intended, in a smoothie, or on top of your oats. It’s just about making a small change in my day. Remembering to think about the ‘You’ in ‘Your’ day.
So with that, I like share a few recipes direct on my insta posts. Such as… Fondue Plate which was a load of fun with the kids, Choc Dipped Mandarin’s which is a really yummy after dinner treat and more yummy than you’d think! Also sharing different smoothie recipes too.
So if your not following, pop by An Apple a Day Challenge and follow along. Also feel free to hastag #anappleadaychallenge if you want to snap a pic of your fruit of the day to play along!
3. Lemon and Zucchini Loaf
This one from Bron of Maxabella Loves is not just a yummy bit of cake for the kids, but something YOU can enjoy with a cuppa whilst the kids go crazy.
A bit of Zen for Mum or Dad and not just for the kiddies…
These are my absolute go to recipe on school holidays or just because.
I love having them in the fridge to just have with a cuppa at night instead of a naughty cookie.
The best thing about these is my son smashes them, he actually eats them!…. Mr Fussy likes them! Hazah!
So if you’re kids are ‘ok’ with nuts then I’d say give them the go! They are so quick and easy to make and you can also make them into bars or balls. Bars are quicker but balls are easier to store or just eat on the go. Just depends on what you prefer…
Are you looking forward to or dreading the school holidays?
