Can you believe that Easter is only 3 weeks away!
I know how nuts is that… Hmm think I have to get my bum into gear. I haven’t gotten anything yet for anyone, let a lone the kids.
I was reading through one of my Nan’s old cook books on the weekend. How funny is that, my definition of fun my differ to yours clearly!
But I love looking through old cook books and how they did things back in the day. It’s amazing how simple they made things and yet how completely complicated they made others. They also used to boiled a lot, but I certainly give them kudos for using a lot more of the animal than we do today, I wish I could stomach the thought, but there’s no way I am making stuffing hearts for dinner, I’m sorry.
I love that nearly every recipe I read had not one processed item in it, at all… if you wanted tomato sauces you made it with tomatoes if you wanted to make Jelly there was no jelly crystals, it’s gelatine and juices.
I am excited though because it has the basis for my Nan’s Irish Stew and with the cooler weather coming I am so going to give it a try.
Another thing I am going to try is an Easter Biscuit that I found. I do remember having it when I was young, I don’t think I cared for them as much as I probably would now. But a nice alternative to all the chocolate I guess.
So in the spirit of Easter festivities and copious amounts of chocolates and sweets, here is another overload of chocolate and sweet Easter yummies for you all to enjoy!
1. Easter Rocky Road
Rocky Road reminds me of Easter and Fathers day as it was one of my dads favourites and Easter because it was the only time we’d get to eat it too.
This one looks like an interesting version…

2. Yummy Easter Selection…
There is a plethora of yummy eats on Lauren from Create Bake Makes pages on any given day, but she out does herself with some yummy easter treats.
I’m super excited about trying out her Hot Cross Bun recipe, especially one eye spied on FB the other week on a Mocha Choc version… cant wait for that recipe… yum!

3. Not just Chocolate…
I like my chocolate but I LOVE my caramel. My fav flavour if I have a choice and these Caramello Egg Custard Pots from Cadbury have me very excited in deed. How yum do these sound?

4. Easter Biscuit
This is the Easter Biscuit I mentioned earlier. It looks pretty easy enough. Certainly worth a go and I think would look quite lovely served as gifts to friends and family in some nice jars or wrapped stacked like this with a lovely bow, don’t you think?
